Talon and Tempest – the two variants

Tip: For classic day hiking, the Talon / Tempest 22 is the bestseller. Fits enough food, spare jacket, water bottle and hydration bladder (3 L). If you need less: 18-litre. If you're planning high-altitude hut tours: 33-litre or 44-litre.
Talon / Tempest 11 – ultralight for trail running and cycling
The small Talon 11 and Tempest 9 (the women's model is 9 L) are the mini versions for:
- Trail running: enough space for hydration bladder, windproof jacket, snacks
- Mountain biking: tools, spare tube, rain jacket
- Fast ascents: peak baggers with minimal kit
- Quick trails: 2–4 hours with minimal luggage
Talon / Tempest 18 & 22 – the all-round day hikers
The 22-litre version is the bestseller of the series. It fits:
- Food: sandwiches, energy bars, fruit
- Water: hydration bladder 2–3 L or 2 bottles
- Spare clothing: fleece, rain jacket
- First aid kit and small rucksack pharmacy
- Camera or small binoculars
- Headtorch for early ascents
The 18-litre is the smaller version for short tours and light packers. If you prefer to pack ultralight, 18 L is sufficient.
Talon / Tempest 26 & 33 – for ambitious days and hut tours
The 26-litre rucksack is ideal for:
- Long day tours over 8 hours with more spare clothing
- Beginning mountaineering without tent
- Via ferratas with helmet, via ferrata kit, safety rope
The 33-litre even manages the jump to hut touring – for one night in an Alpine club hut. With sleeping bag compatibility (hut sleeping bag), spare clothing and provisions for 2 days fit inside.
