How large can my hand luggage be on Condor – and is the suitcase even included in the cheapest fare? This is exactly where something important changed in 2026: since 1 May 2026, Condor allows larger hand luggage. In our guide you'll find all the current Condor hand luggage rules for 2026 – the new dimensions and weights, the differences by fare from Economy Light to Business, plus the fees that make sure you won't get caught out at the gate.
The Test Winners Among Hand Luggage Suitcases
In the latest hand luggage suitcase test (17 models), the TITAN UPGRADE S20 was the test winner with the grade „Good“ (1.8). At 55 × 40 × 20 cm it fits easily within Condor's new frame of 55 × 40 × 23 cm.

Condor is Germany's largest leisure airline, taking you from Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Munich, Hamburg & Co. to Mallorca, the Canary Islands, the Greek islands, Hurghada or Madeira. For hand luggage the rule is: a small personal item is free of charge in every fare – the large trolley, on the other hand, only from the Economy Classic fare onwards. In the cheapest fare, Economy Light (often called „Zero“ on direct flights), you have to add it for an extra fee.
1. The Small Personal Item
The small piece of hand luggage is included free of charge in every Condor fare and must fit under the seat in front:
- Dimensions: 40 × 30 × 15 cm (new since 01.05.2026, previously 40 × 30 × 10 cm)
- Typical items: laptop bag, handbag, small backpack, shoulder bag
- Storage: under the seat in front
- Suitable options: underseater bags, small shoulder bags or compact backpacks
2. The Large Hand Luggage Trolley
The classic cabin trolley is only included free of charge from the Economy Classic fare onwards:
- Dimensions: 55 × 40 × 23 cm (new since 01.05.2026, previously 55 × 40 × 20 cm; including wheels and handles)
- Weight: Economy 8 kg · Premium Economy 10 kg · Business 2 pieces, 16 kg total
- In the Economy Light / Zero fare: not included – can be added from approx. 9,99 € (short-/medium-haul) or from approx. 29,99 € (long-haul)
- Suitable options: hand luggage trolleys in 55 × 40 × 23 cm, cabin backpacks or travel bags in hand luggage format
New since 1 May 2026 – larger hand luggage: Condor has increased the permitted dimensions across its entire route network: the small personal item from 40 × 30 × 10 to 40 × 30 × 15 cm and the trolley from 55 × 40 × 20 to 55 × 40 × 23 cm. Many older figures online still show the smaller values – the new dimensions are the ones that count. (The likewise announced increase for checked baggage, however, only takes effect on 1 May 2027.)

Condor checks the dimensions and weight of hand luggage at the gate. If your luggage doesn't fit or is too heavy, it will be carried in the hold for a fee:
- Short- and medium-haul: approx. 75 € per piece of luggage
- Long-haul: approx. 100 € per piece of luggage
Money-saving trick: With a Condor-compliant suitcase (55 × 40 × 23 cm) and a small personal item (40 × 30 × 15 cm) you avoid gate checks entirely. Pay attention to the external dimensions including wheels and handles – many „Expand“ suitcases exceed the limit when fully packed.
Condor Checked Baggage 2026
Unlike hand luggage, checked baggage on Condor is fare-dependent:
- Economy Light / Zero: no checked baggage included – can be added
- Economy Classic / Green / Flex: 1 piece up to 20 kg (max. 158 cm sum)
- Premium Economy: 1 piece up to 25 kg
- Business: 1 piece up to 30 kg
- Absolute maximum: 32 kg per piece of luggage
Good to know: On 1 May 2027, Condor will increase the checked baggage weights (Economy to 23 kg, Premium to 32 kg). This increase is not yet active in summer 2026 – until then, the values listed above apply.
Power Banks and Lithium Batteries on Condor
For power banks and batteries, Condor – like all airlines – applies strict safety rules:
- Hand luggage only – never in checked baggage
- Maximum 2 power banks per person, packed to be short-circuit-proof
- Up to 100 Wh permitted, 100–160 Wh only with Condor's approval, over 160 Wh prohibited
- Use and charging on board prohibited – store within reach under the seat in front, not in the overhead bin

Liquids in Condor Hand Luggage
The EU-wide liquid rules apply: individual containers with a maximum of 100 ml, all together in a transparent 1-litre bag. At airports with modern CT scanners (e.g. Frankfurt, Munich), larger quantities are sometimes also permitted. 5 Money-Saving Tips for Your Condor Hand Luggage
- Do the math on Light vs Classic: If you need a trolley, Economy Classic with an included suitcase is often cheaper than Light + adding the trolley at the airport.
- Pack to the exact size: Better a 55 × 40 × 23 cm suitcase than one bursting at the seams. Gate staff measure including wheels and handles.
- Make the most of the personal item: The 40 × 30 × 15 cm cabin bag fits a power bank, charging cable, headphones and travel documents – free of charge in every fare.
- Choose a lightweight suitcase: Every kilo of empty weight is deducted from the 8-kg limit. Modern hand luggage suitcases often weigh under 2.5 kg.
- Online instead of at the gate: Book the trolley and checked baggage in advance – it's significantly more expensive at the airport, and at the gate you risk 75–100 €.

How large can hand luggage be on Condor?
Since 1 May 2026, the large hand luggage trolley may measure a maximum of 55 × 40 × 23 cm and weigh 8 kg in Economy. In addition, a small personal item up to 40 × 30 × 15 cm is free of charge in every fare.
Is the trolley included in the cheapest Condor fare?
No. In the Economy Light or Zero fare, only the small personal item (40 × 30 × 15 cm) is free. You add the trolley from approx. 9,99 € (short-/medium-haul) or 29,99 € (long-haul). From Economy Classic onwards it is included.
How much can hand luggage weigh on Condor?
8 kg in Economy Class, 10 kg in Premium Economy and, in Business Class, two pieces with a combined 16 kg.
What does oversized hand luggage cost at the gate?
Depending on the route, 75 € (short-/medium-haul) to 100 € (long-haul) per piece. A precisely sized suitcase in 55 × 40 × 23 cm saves you this fee.
Can I bring a power bank on Condor?
